A Tom Jackson Signature Design

Designed by Tom Jackson, one of the Southeast’s best known course architects, Wyboo Golf Course consistently ranks among the top courses in South Carolina, no small achievement in a state that has over 450 golf courses and some of the best in the country. With gentle topography, a wonderful mix of lateral water, well placed bunkers and smooth and sloping TifEagle greens, this 18 hole, 6,908-yard, Par 72 course can be a perfectly laid-back choice for a leisurely round of golf while nonetheless offering plenty of challenges for expert golfers.

One of the Best Golf Courses in South Carolina

Opened in 1999, Wyboo Golf Course gained statewide renown beginning in 2002 when it was voted one of the Top 10 public access golf courses in South Carolina by The State newspaper in Columbia for each of the six consecutive years the courses were ranked (2002-2007). Other notable golf courses in the rankings were The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island (host of the 1991 Ryder Cup and the 2012 PGA Championship) and Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head Island (home of the PGA Tour’s RBC Heritage Golf Tournament). Since then, Wyboo Golf Course has become increasingly popular with golfers of all ages and experience. Plus, with Wyboo’s reasonable membership and greens fees, Deercreek At Wyboo residents can take advantage of one of the #1 valued golf destinations in the country while living just a walk to a tee away from one of the best golf courses in South Carolina.

No need to worry about the weather either. Located just outside of Manning, South Carolina in the Santee Cooper Lakes area, Wyboo Golf Course and adjacent Deercreek At Wyboo enjoy mild winters and warm, sunny summers. The course is not to be missed in the spring in particular, as flowering azaleas make the lush greenery bloom with color. But don’t forget about golfing in the fall and winter. When many parts of the country experience cold temperatures and weather conditions too severe for golfing, it’s Tee Time at Wyboo!

One of the Most Interesting Names in Golf

Wyboo (pronounced “Y-boo”) is an American Indian name thought to mean “wide river.” Located on the northern edge of Wyboo Creek near Lake Marion, Wyboo Golf Course now occupies land that is known to have once been inhabited by the Santee Indian tribe, part of the Sioux nation. Today, the course remains as peaceful and serene as one might imagine it was hundreds of years ago.
